You arrive home from work stressed out only to find your kids brimming with energy and looking forward to a game of catch or shooting some hoops with you. “Ohhh boyyy” you groan inwardly. “I just can’t do this. I’ve had a s*** of a day at work, been sitting in traffic for over an hour. I just need to get my feet up and grab some quiet time”. Before you succumb to your feelings as well as hurting your kids’ feelings, surprise, surprise, that run around with them will get you feeling on top of the world again and surprisingly re-energized. I know this for a fact, I have been there myself.

Granted the first five minutes will feel as though you are trying to run in soft sand but once your breathing starts to increase boosting your oxygen levels and your heart pumps more blood to the muscles and rest of the body almost magically the lethargy fades away and you start feeling invigorated and re-energized once again.
At the end of it all you will have reinforced that sense of companionship with your children, and re-charged yourself for the evening.
Please be careful though not to overdo things if you have not undertaken any physical activities in a while or suffer from any medical conditions as there would be nothing worse than a trip to the ER to round off your day. As with all things, “Moderation and Common Sense Matters.”
